My first post... thought I'd start here...

Recorded in our basement practice room.

In the chorus, I'd have the drummer get on that snare...the sidestick has no body whatsoever, sounds like somebody tapping a pencil.

Not getting much bass in my speakers.

Vocals are kind of boring. They sound like they're in a different room than the band too, the music has a "live room" sound, the vocals are very close and intimate. I'd get some reverb on the vocals.

the vocalist sounds like the dude from "crash test dummies" on the verse.
mmmmmmm

sounds good -

few notes
turn the vocals down and put some reverb on them (not a lot)
more kick drum
put some compression on the bass -
someone give that drummer a new snare.
Post some more stuff!

Thank you for the feedback!

I hear what you mean on the vocals. I'll do something to liven them up. It's a large room, but quite dead.

Funny about the bass... It's overpowering some places I listen. And heavily compressed. I played bass on this track and did it quickly. (one take) As i'm the bassist I actually have to try to keep it a few db below where I actually want it to sit.

I try not to produce our drummer much. Unless he's going against the song, which is rare. This kit is our practice space kit... A Pearl Forum series with stock skins, and good cymbals. He has an Ayotte snare I've been trying to get him to bring out, but he hasn't yet.

I have more from this session, but they don't sound as polished as this one. I'll throw one up anyways.
