Hi,

My brother-in-law is wanting me to build him a computer. He just bought a new Roland keyboard (not sure of the model number - he is going to email me the #) I think the keyboard was in the $3000 range. I am not that familiar with Roland keyboards or their models.

He is thinking the Soundblaster Audigy Platinum EX is the card he needs. He told me to put the best card money can buy into this computer.

He will also be burning DVDs and making digital home movies.

So here are my two questions...

1) What is the best card for the money to work in conjunction with his Roland keyboard.

2) I saw someones post, they said that many home recorders have two sound cards in their computer. Could someone explain this to me and tell me if this is the direction I need to take.

All replys welcome.

Thanks,

Joe

The brand of keyboard is irrelevant.

Get a Delta card if he wants to have some serious recording ability. They have higher Signal to noise ratio and can record/playback at 24bit.

The Soundblasters are for games and playing MP3's.

That is why some people have 2 cards. One for recording and one for games/surround sound.
