Hey guys. Just looking for a little feedback.

The piano was an upright, mic'd with an MXL 2006 about ~8 inches above open top, centered.

The vocalist was recorded with the same mic.

Here's the song pre-mixing:

And my mix:

Anything big I'm missing?
Thanks.

I listened to both. The vocal in your mix sounds quite harsh to me. It may be that the reverb is exaggerating the harshness that was already present in the raw track. Come to think of it, I don't really care for that reverb much at all.

When you say that the vocalist was recorded with the same mic, you don't mean at the same time, do you? Not that there would be anything wrong with that, but I was wondering.

Maybe try getting more of the soundboard, if the piano is to be the only instrument. It would be great, too, if you could mic the piano in stereo. Naturally, if you only have one mic/preamp, this would not be possible.

Nice voice.
