Hey guys,

I just bought some event alp5 monitors and here is the first rough mix that I used them for  . Tell me what I need to do to get everything in order...

This is just a 50 second segment:

Lights Out

thanks!

That sounded great....good defenition, eveything crisp and clean....the lead guitar on the right is a tiny bit loud but, that is the only nit I have other than the tune was WAY to short......post the rest of it!!!

thanks alot!...once I get the vocals tracked I will post the rest of the song...

Love the panning of the axes and the tone.

I only hear the bass at the end when the everything else stops.

Care to tell what kind of gear and how you got to this point? :)

I am using an m-audio projectmix I/O with protools mpowered on a brand new Imac with intellcoreduo 2.16 and 2 gig of ram. I have a beta 52 for kick sm 57 for snare 2 58s for toms mxl 993's for overheads and a ber 1 condenser... I tracked the guitars with the beta 52 and the sm 57 to one stereo track for each part... I just got a brand new pair of event alp5 monitors and they pretty much kick ass!

thanks alot!

You are welkom.

Such detail...except..what kind of guitars and amps and any effects pedals to get your tones? :D

Did you mic each amp for each guitar part, with both the 52 and 57 and do you remember your placement of the mics? Thanks.

Glad you like your monitors. :)

As True said... thebass is mostly M.I.A.
Otherwise this sounds pretty nifty though that guitar is a tiny bit loud as JPW said.

I used a Marshall valvestate for the rythm and miced the bottom right speaker with both mics pointed inward... for leads I used a crate 100 watt deal...same mic placement...I used a gibson sg standard for the leads and an epiphone les paul for everything else...
