This is the first recording of my band, for you fine people to criticise. It was recording by ourselves in our homebuild studio. The studio and the song are half finished as I wanted to take your advice before i spend hours mixing it further. Btw vocals are being rerecorded, those ones are just for reference. Any advice welcome! cheers :)

Neat song, great arrangement, and sounds like pretty good production. Maybe the parts (especially the vocal) are a little dry - a touch of reverb would make the vocal sound more ambient, and less like it was being recorded in a separate room.

cheers! ye fist time the reverb was a bit heavy i guess i backed of a bit too much

Is it my imagination, or are the drums panned all to the left? Panning is a personal thing, I guess, but it seems to me that they should be more centered. Maybe the snare and kick centered, the toms and cymbols in a left/right stereo field?

Good production otherwise. It's the first song in a long time that I was able to listen to all the way through.

no the overheads were panned hard left and right with kick in the center, didnt have a mic on the snare unfortunately, recorded with two seinheisers and a crappy 20 euro mic on the kick. Any recommendations on a good cheap kick mic?
