Mix seems to work although I'm not familiar with the cover tune. (gods3) I'm really interested in that Akai unit. Is that a 16 track uncompressed 24/96 HD deally? Or is that only the dps16i? The stuff sounds pretty clean to me. That level of clean will work for me I think. Does it have 16 mic pres with phantom power?

there is no dps16i that i know of. there are 8 simultaneous inputs. only one has phantom power...maybe 2...i'm not sure because my only mike is the sm58 so i haven't used phantom power yet...the akai site has all the specs you could want on the unit..i'm extremely happy with it...but i'd take a look at the yamaha if money's no object....thanks for the listen...the actual song is called "god's comic" and it's an elvis costello tune. "god's 3" is my shorthand for 3rd mix!
