thanks for the help...i apologize for saying stupid shit i was just frustrated...im going to record the band again today and spend a lot more time making sure the timing is better...again thanks for all the feedback...i basically learned performance is everything

Overall these guys can play well enough that with a little work and practice I'm sure they can turn in something more solid to work with in the mix. If the band is a bit green with recording it can take some time. At least it was that way for me. Early on I thought I played with great time until I started recording and got to hear the playback. Metronome is the best known cure and if they have an allergic reaction to the idea they need to get over it. Have each member pick one up if they don't already own one, and start using it right away. It can take a while to get used to it but the payoff will be worth the effort. FWIW, I prefer ones with a click rather than any sort of tone. The ones that have any sort of pitch are distracting when out of key with what you're playing.

chris's strong reaction to this thread is the best thing that could have happened in terms of your having received TONS of feedback on a thread that would have otherwise been nearly ignored.

many thanks to chris for his masterful strategy in routing the attention of many to help these folks improve their recordings. :) well done!
