firewire vrs. usb

so, from anyone who has experience with both, I'd like to ask weather it would be wise to go with a firewire audio interface with decent reviews, or a USB interface with really good reviews?

With USB2.0 firewire is no longer considered faster (USB2.0 is theroretically 80MBit/s faster) but I have yet to see a great USB interface. It seems as if the Firepod is the way to go for firewire in a mid-low price range
