Hey guys, it looks like whatever I am going to upgrade to will be a firewire something, but my computer does not have a Firewire port so I am going to need to use an add in PCI card. Any suggestions? I don't want to go spend $$$ on a firewire interface and have the card give me crap! Thanks!

Why spend the money on both the Firewire interface and Firewire controller card when a PCI solution will be cheaper and perform better?

adding a Firewire PCI card is simply and cheap!

I bought one to use with my DVcamcorder. Never had a problem.

Same here- I mostly use USB 2.0 but as a convenience for SONY equipment I bought the PCI Firewire card. Haven't had a lick of trouble with it. Just a generic IEEE 1394 Card.

Plug and play.... I had an Adaptec in my laptop docking station and it had no problems. I now use a Adaptec cardbus adater with no problems.

Use PRICEWATCH.COM for the best price.
