Firewire or USB 2.0?

Hey everyone...

Well...now USB 2.0 has appeared with is supposed 80 mbps faster than Firewire...What do I do? Do you think all the sound hardware coming out will be starting to use USB 2.0 or do you think they'll stick with firewire? I'm going to buy either a usb.20 or a firewire pci card and I wonder which one to get for future use...?

In the computer world, I'll take firewire any day. USB has always been a pain the butt for a number of reasons.
 
Pick up a combination Firewire/USB 2 card for just a few dollars more... leave yourself open to both options
 
i prefer firewire,

and ehm, i'm not absolutely sure about this,
but i read stuff about USB that it can only handle "one way traffic",
and firewire is more like full duplex

so usb 2.0 might be a lill faster....firewire might handle the audio better,
but but but..... i should go read some more on that subject...

anyway, firewire is hot plugable, usb isn't,
so you can turn off or on your firewire device at any time without riscing an atomic explosion in your room
