Firewire information

Ok, I know little about firewire. I am probably going to get a Canon ZR40 camcorder and it has firewire output. What type of firewire cable do I get? They have 6-4 pin or 4-4 pin. I don't know which one I would need. Ok, thanks.

I may be mistaken, but my Canon came with the Dv firewire cable. So, I don't think you will need to worry about the cable.

You didn't say what platform you are on, but if you are on a PC, and 1394 is not integrated. there are several issues you must deal with to be successful.

Intergrated? Meaning on the mobo? I am going to buy a cheap firewire card from pricewatch. 18$ can't be wrong
