Do it right or dont do it
Could you help me to choose a FireWire HD? My idea is to have a dedicated audio HD but I can only spend about 200 bucks on it so any help will be apreciated. My setting is:

iMac Intel Core Duo 2GHz
250Gb HD, partitioned in 4
1.5 RAM installed
Two Firewire 400 ports available

I'm working with:
ProTools LE 7.1.1
Digidesign MBox 2

Thanks in advance!

be sure to read this before getting a firewire drive.

I like Maxtor drives
I read it, but I prefer to know the real thing. I mean, a personal exprience with Firewire HDs. The official website always recommend "official" products wich are not always the best for the purpouses. I see they didn't mention Lacie, but I know Lacie is a great brand for recording so... I correct myself:

After reading the usefull Digidesign Firewire guide, wich product (please especifiy) will YOU recommend based on YOUR experience? Thanks

I just posted it so that you knew what they tell you NOT to buy and the requirements for Pro Tools.

Most drives should work with Pro Tools...but beware which ones don't, because then you can't blame Digi if it craps out on you or PT has problems running with it.
