I'm looking into getting a new setup.

I'm wondering what is a good Firewire Interface to get? I was going to get a Delta 1010LT but was advised against it, so now I am looking to get a Firewire Interface, I want it to run Pro-Tools, so it will have to be a M-Audio Interface. I was looking at a Profire 610 but it is more expensive than I want to spend on it, so I was wondering if the M-Audio FireWire 1814 is any good? If not I will just have to save up more. But the M-Audio FireWire 1814 looks like it has everything I need, except the Preamps don't seem to be as good as the Profire, is it a big difference?

If you want to run ProTools, you HAVE to buy an interface that Digidesign approves.

The whole idea is that they have ALREADY TESTED them and know they work.

They have a list over on their website...

The whole idea is that they have ALREADY TESTED them and know they work --- and they're used as copy protection dongles.

They have a list over on their website... start there....

thanks but i know that i said it in my post,

The FW1814 is a little cranky, but it's a decent interface. Just make sure you can dedicate a FireWire port to it. It doesn't like sharing ports with anything. At all. And by dislikes, I mean the S/PDIF ports don't work unless it is alone on the bus. :)
