The computer I'm adding a Firepod to doesn't have a firewire card, and was wondering if there are any suggestions or comments on what to get, or not to get. I don't know if there are quality differences or driver issues from card to card, but I'd rather spend the cash for a nice card rather than a budget card.

Thanks in advance for the input!

I'm not familiar with the Firepod, but does the manufacturer recommend (or require) a certain card or cards? I know my Digidesign specifies "Digi Approved" firewire cards and everything else for that matter. Just a thought...

Nope, i just dug around on their site and they just states that it needs firewire ports.

ALWAYS ALWAYS check with the sound interface manufacturer!

They may know something that will keep you from knashing your teeth and banging your head into the wall....
