Firestudio Project & Samplitude 11

hey all so I recently purchased a firestudio project and ran into all sorts of problems with Sonar 7. After reading all the posts about the complications between the two I installed Samplitude 11 and everything seemed to be fine. The only thing I'm experiencing is occasional audio pops and drops while recording and this is obviously noticeable in the playback. I've tried everything from lowering/increasing the buffer size to running the firestuidio in safe mode 3. Nothing seems to work. Wondering if anyone might be able to point me to a soultion? here's what I'm working with...

Presonus Firestudio Project
Windows 7 (6g's of RAM)
TI EEE firewire port
Samplitude 11
 
yeah, I disconnect from the internet before I even start up the program
 
Do you disable the card? I had a card that totally screwed recording unless it was disabled.
 
nevermind I figured it out right after I made that last post. I ran the program and tried again with the wireless card disabled and the static pops still showed up. This is so frustrating
