FIREPOD & Sonar 4 PE

Is that a quality combo? I've heard good things about the FIREPOD.

Is there anything in a comparable price range with better pre's that I should check out?

I'm moving from my Roland VS-1880 to a total computer setup.
Right now I have a dedicated GigaStudio PC & a sequencer PC w/Sonar 3 SE.

on sequencer PC: P4 2.53 / 1GB RAM 80GB sys drive, 74GB SATA audio + DFHS drive

I'd say a Firepod & Sonar 4 would be a fairly ass kickin setup

You'll be glad you when you finally get to record on that stuff....I just bought the Firepod and Sonar 4 and the sound is AWESOME!!I was going to buy the M-Audio Octane,then The Edirol FA-101 or go back to The Motu 896(which I used to own) but I went with the Firepod and I love it..

How much is both costing you?

$250 for the upgrade to Sonar 4 PE (from Sonar 3 Studio)

$599 for FirePOD when I do buy it. Maybe cheaper if I can get a deal.

Fight for the deal on Firepod..I only paid 500$/NO TAX!I told the Salesman @ Guitar Center either do this or I walk out w/500$ in my pocket and no Firepod..Wasn't the worst thing that could happen,in the end they hooked it up.
