Firepod Owners?

Hi All,

This post is pretty much aimed at any firepod owners. Basically I'm torn between a firepod and a delta 1010 and would like to know your thoughts on the firepod.

I'm running windows 2000 and would like to hear from anyone who has a firepod running on win2K, any problems etc.

Basically there's plenty of info on the 1010 but as the firepod is so new there's not really much info about it at the moment, I can get a 1010 for about half the price of a firepod so I'd like to know whether owners think the firepod was worth the extra cash.

I'm not really planning on moving the firepod around so I question whether it's a waste to spend the money now when I might be able to get something with better technology in a year or two. The only thing with the 1010 is that I'm primarily going to be using whatever I get to record drums so I'm going to need to use the preamps in my Yamaha mixer if I get the 1010, good idea or not?

If anyone would like to chime in regardless of whether they own a firepod or 1010 I'd love opinions because at the moment I can't decide.

Well I just thought that you guys would like to know what I decided.

I emailed presonus with some of my questions and they replied saying that the firepod doesn't work with 2000. They may be just covering themselves but I can't afford to spend £600 on something for it not to work until they sort out the drivers.

So in the end I've pretty much settled on the 1010 using my yamaha mixer for the preamps, its half the price and it means my mixer isn't made redundant so it's the best choice in my opinion.

If anyone would like to chime in feel free to do so.
