to me its always hard to tell how somethings going to sit in a mix soloed out, but i think they sound pretty tight, has a real crisp edge to it.. real clear to my ears.. is there a light chorus or something on them? take care

Sounds great! Nice and cutting, but still has some girth behind it. I think the best way to describe it is very tight and controlled. Very good!

Could use a bit more mids but, thats just my opinion....otherwise sounds great!

I like em. Depends on how you want to use them, as in certain songs, depending on the other instruments, and vocals, they are higher pitched guitars, but with good drums, and a full bass sound, they will be cool.

Its a little piercing in the high mids.
Needs more warmth too.

I agree. Try less on the distortion side, more on the overdrive side. It's a harsh, sterile sort of distortion now. Cold steel, no warmth, no body. If you have a tube compressor, or a tube compressoe emulator, try a gentle pass through it too; maybe that'll de-ice it a little...

Of course, out of context, it's hard to say, really; what you're doing may be exactly right for the song.

I want a smooth distortion, not brittle. You know what i mean by smooth? you could crank it right up in volume and it wouldnt start sounding real nasty.
I am using the JCM2000 DSL50. It is a tube amp but its kinda brittle in the hi end. But at the same time I payed like £600 for it, so I should be able to get a decent distortion from it.
Cheers for the input Larrion.
