Finished my project studio/pics and clip

I've been working on my project studio. I added some speaker stands and wall treatments plus added a new mic, cables and tried to tune the room as much as I could.

First clip I worked on in the updated space:



Recent additions: Monitor stands (filled with sand), auralex foam on walls/ceilings to break up the walls and a Shure KSM32 condenser mic. Previously I also upgraded all my cables and I am waiting on the last bits and pieces to arrive: A USB isolator and some zalman fans to quiet my PC. The isolator should fix a problem with some high pitched crosstalk I am hearing when I move the mouse etc.

I used T pins to put up the foam...Worked a treat and does not glue up the walls. The stands have spikes on them so they go through the carpet and make a good contact with the floor.

Looks like a nice place to work. Tiny but well done.

I have to admit the "Amp Tower" is something I've been dreaming about doing for a while now. I think it would be great to have a shelves of amp heads in the control room with the mic'd cabs being in the "live room". That way the engineer and musician can talk comfortably yet you could still record that monster mic'd amp sound. I'm jealous that you can at the very least get that vibe in your place.

That is a tiny room, my friend. You will find that you require MUCH more bass trapping AND as far as I can see, your mixes will be much easier to work if you were to face the outside window and put an absorption panel on the door. IOW, your back to the entry door, outside window in front of you and the booth window to your right.

The reflections from the booth window will be very distracting.

Let's not forget having those drivers to the inside...
