Don't know if you have the monitors temporarily like that or not, but: Ideally you would want them to form an equilateral triangle with your head, with both speakers angled in, facing you. Click on the "BX8" pdf here and look at the 11th page - http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.manuals - And ignore all this if you already knew =)

cool... not pretty but certainly functional...

yup, you definately need a pair of speaker stands... you can build one yourself if you're handy. :)

looks like a bunch of beds put together
shits still clean

Please describe size and materials

this is kinda what i need to be able to do vocal recording in an apartment building w/o disturbing the neighbors. i have a walkin closet that i want to use for something like this.

Looks like you used MDF, correct? What are the dimensions? And what are you using as a ceiling inside the booth? From the photo, it looks open with only a blanket hanging down.

it's a 2x3 frame with insulation between the board panels that are on the the front & back. 6'4" tall, 3' wide & 4' deep.
the blankets are all soundproofing blankets. thats all i have for a ceiling for now, it's 2 blankets folded over (the pics are before i did that.) because no one in my band is over 5'10, & so i have it lower for now. if i ever want to have anyone else record in there i'll make a real ceiling & do it taller. just not sure yet.

what type of wood and insulation did you use in building your vocal booth? Also, what do you do about light and air (fan)? Lastly, what is the foam in the corners for and where did you get the soundproof blankets from?
