Enjoyable listen. A nice travel.

Good samples, although I'd love to hear it on a real piano.

I'm surprised most of the piano guys (well, I only know two...you and Flat-9) don't record or even have (? guessing here) a real piano.

Krakit ........Nice to meet you

This is an amazing sponto composition.
How some people can just sit down and DO music seemingly without a net "if you will" and also make it sound so Natural.....
Truly amazing..................................
Very Inspiring............Thank You.

I've only ever owned a real piano once in my life.

It was a Wissner from the 1800's. I got it for free. Well, not exactly for free, the price was "get this big eye sore out of my house".

After some years, it was my turn to say, "just get rid of this thing!".

It really wasn't a very good piano. Even so, it had a baby grand harp in an upright. Very loud and tacky. Exactly what you would expect to hear in a movie western.

And before you ask, no I never recorded with it.

I have recorded a real piano on occassion. All done in studios. Unfortunately, I gave the one and only tape I had of these performances to my brothers inlaws from England. I was to get it back on their next trip to the states. Well as luck would have it, my brother got a divorce between these trips and I've never seen that tape again.

Oh well. Thanks for all the kind words.

The quality of the recording isn't there. The Tascam isn't doing you any favors. You are very talented and what a great piano patch!

Well, I just took posession of a Zoom MRS-4 digital four track and will be selling the Prota studio this week.

I expect a lot nicer recordings for submission from this point forward.

Very cool man....an enjoyable listen....
at 1:46 is where I would beef up the arrangement....that is if you were going to develop it further...

Well done.
Joe

I think that I can state pretty much emphatically that this was a once and that's it performance of Wabi Sabi. I did it on the fly and do not think I could do it again unless I really woodshedded it.

Trying to recreate it isn't worth doing because I could be making 100 more new tunes in the time it would take me to actually learn this one. :D

Really terrific...

By the way, I saw a coupla things in your bio page you might wish to correct:

Under "similar artists," you mispelled Keith Emerson and Vince Guaraldi

Thanks. I was in such a rush to publish this on NWR that I didn't stop to spell check. Guaraldi I can forgive myself for, but I was going to name my son "Keith" if I had a boy.

Keith Emerson Kramer

But I had a daughter, Quinn, which is just as good.

:D

I think this is amazing-hiss was negligible to me.
Very cool to listen to this!

Totally awesome. This reminds me of a pianist friend of mine who had a doctorate, I was a freshman while he was finishing his doctorate.

He passed away ... He left me with an awesome recording of 'When Sonny Gets Blue' that I play viola on, it's got a nice viola solo cut for it and I may record that and post it to the board in his honor.

Your are inspiring me with what you have said in this performance.

Your playing, your ideas ... deep pockets.

God, if there's anything I hate, it's people who can really play! You did that with a piano patch into a Tascam? Great job. You made my day. And yeah, I can hear the hiss too. So what?-Richie

Dude... what the heck.

Most pianists can't play like this with a prepared piece of sheet music in front of them.

This was great man. Usually "stream of consciousness" stuff is just garbled, nonsensical stuff with no cohesiveness... but this piece was excellent. Cool changes, cool playing, cool stuff over-all.

Quite frankly, if you hadn't said it was improv'ed I would have assumed it was a piece you wrote. (And I woulda also assumed that it took a long time to write it. :p)

You had some hiss in there (not sure what format you used).. but eh... who cares. :D Good music is still good music even when there's tape hiss. :p

5 stars man... wish I could improv this well... (on any instrument. :p)

wow, this is beautiful! Can't imagine how much better it will sound if you ran it thru better DIs. Nonetheless, this is very impressive!! That hiss isn't very noticable, but adds a little realism to it, so I think it's a good thing.

Good job

Carl;

Some very nicely played chops on that recording. Sounds good.

I want to thank everyone for being so generous.

I never thought for a second that I would get such kind remarks on this thing since it is so obviously full of flubbs.

I was hesistant to even post it. Especially as my first post ever, but I am very glad that I did.

Thank you all very much.

Carl

Very nice. A little hiss, but I would've barely noticed it if it hadn't been mentioned.

God, you have piano chops! Brilliant work. I really like it. Mix is good, too. Nice dynamic range. I'd sell my soul to the devil to be able to play like that. Wait... I already did that, and all I got was a Ronco potato peeler. Damn, I should've held out for more.

Piltdown Man

That's some great jamming. You are very talented.
Post some more of that kind of stuff. I love improvised stuff like that. Good job!

Niiiice playing here.

I am hearing some clipping near 2:00...

It gets worse in a few spots.

Not the cleanest recording but I have a feeling this one might be hard to duplicate in another format, sounds too spontaneous.
I could be wrong.

Nowhere radio charts, do they mean anything?

First of all, I would like to thank everyone once again for all the nice things that they have been saying about Wabi Sabi.

I was wondering what the Chart Lists mean on NoWhere radio. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I have been enjoying top ten status for a few weeks now. I was wondering if that was a big deal or not.

Does anyone know what the actual requirments (besides the obvious most downloads) are? Is there a way to check the actual number of downloads that I have gotten?

Thanks,
Carl

excellent musicianship! pretty damn good.
I actually find the tape-hiss charming :) analouge is the way to go, to be sure.
