I finally got around to opening up a Soundclick account and I just uploaded a beat I did last night. I tried to make a club banger, but that's something I'm not used to doing, but this is my effort. Let me know if it flies or not. I'll be adding a lot more beats and full tracks in the coming week or so.

Thanks,

I'll give it some ear when I get back to the house tonight.

My little 2 "weak ass" cents.....
There's little part where you pulled out the piano on the bassline! I say "don't do that"! I like the way it sound along with the piano accompanying it.....It's too weak (not full) without it! Actually I think you should add more off a real bass sound to make it deeper, because it is a dope bassline that needs to stand out more... Also, I think some strings and some other type effects to fill in every 8 measures or so will help off set the loop.......

OVERALL: I say "Good Job"!
Keep doing your thing playa................................

Thanks for the feedback. I think what your referring to is the saxaphone thing I have in there, not the bass. There is a deep bass, but I couldn't put it up too high in the mix cuz it was overpowering everything else. The sax is there to fill up the piano part where it hits on the 3rd measure I think. I had some string tracks in there, but took them out for some reason. Maybe I'll put them back in. Good lookin' out....

Well, when I uploaded it, it said that it would take 24 hours to clear, but then I was able to listen to it automatically... as well as a few other people too. So I guess it may depend on some crazy factors or something. Try it again tomorrow and let me know what you think.

Thanks for trying to check it out,

You can listen to the lo-fi file. I'll listen to it in the morning when I can get the hi-fi file so I can give you accurate feed homie.

I listened to the lo-fi file since the hi-fi still won't work hmm what gives. Anyway, I agree that the piano sets the tone for the whole track. The sax solo just doesn't give it justice and does take fullness away from the track. I also agree with fattening up the bassline a little bit and adding some strings and maybe a little bit of synth too to stir things up in there. I'd also lower the flute. I can see elements of a banger, you just need to get it bangin'.

The track is a good start, I'd just tweak it a little bit. How did you make the beat. What types of software/hardware were you using?

I guess I'll get back on it then. I agree with the flute part now as it sort of pierces the eardrums when the volumes high... didn't realize it then. I'll also add those strings back in the mix. Thanks for the feedback.

No clue why the Hi-Fi still wont work. It still technically hasn't been 24 hours yet though.

I use ACID Pro to sequence, Adobe Audition for editing and effects and a Triton Le for sounds.

It's weird. My tracks were hi-fi ready in less than 4 hours. I'm surprised it's taking so long on yours. That could be because they've recently gotten their own servers and have moved stuff back and forth.

Get back on that and let us know when you've revised the heat.

Yo! I think I got so much criticism when I started rapping and then started beatmaking that it just became a part of me yanno. I think it's a good thing because that criticism only helped me to step my game up a little bit. So I feel like I owe it to the next cat that comes along to give them my honest feel on it to help them step up. Too many stingy muthafuckas out there anyway.

i feel u on that ... and i would say "me too" on the criticism tip . . . but i happen to love that beat!!! adn i would rock that joint . . . esp. on stage!!!!

I appreciate it Fieva and I always will. There's no point in lying about your opinion. Gully, thanks for the probs and check your PM.

"Yeah Nick" you got a nice thing going as far as the beat. But most importantly, you have a good attitude. I think that is what keeps me going, I do this thing for fun, but I take it serious! I listen, learn, and take critiques well and not personal. It is only one's perspective anyway! I have made beats and had people say it was dope and I was like "That's DOO-DOO".....But again, your attitude is where it should be, that is most important. Continue to be a student of the game and don't get all caught up with the "Big Head Syndrome" that I have witnessed by many on the BBS.

Keep Banging!

Trumps is right. I've seen some cocky people in my musical life (on and offline) tryin' to sell straight bullshit. But on the same page, I've met some real cool people sellin' top notch shit. Ego can fuck you up in the long run because you get so bigheaded that you don't think straight and you lose focus of what you're doin' in the first place. I'm like Trump in the way that I've made some beats that people across the board felt and others that got mixed reviews, even from myself. The day you stop being a student is the day the old dog stops learning new tricks. I see it in you so make that shit bang homie and everythang is everythang.

nice

i like the intro, the bassline sounded like it could be turned up just a little more, if headroom is your concern just roll off some of the lowend of the bassline so you can't feel it, but you can hear it. this beat sounds like it has a very good foundation, but it doesn't sound full to me. there is room for another mellody and also some change ups. you can scatter some high hats in there and you can add a little more to the beat during the hook and drop it back down to a few instruments like you have playing now for the verses, or vice versa. you have a tasteful amount of reverb set on the snare. on the real, i like this and i'm happy that you finally let us hear some more of your music.

thanks -- i just hope i can git it poppin wit the audio as well!!!

Springfield, nice track.

My $0.02

I'm feelin' UR song.

I can't turn the speakers up too loud, so I can't comment on the levels of the instruments in your mix.

I also feel that that you need to add a few more elements.

You should add:

another melody within the song

an additional hi-hat pattern that gets you hyoed.

I can hear/feel a soulful male or female vox sample humming slowly in the background, like they do in those old down south baptist churches.

I can hear/feel some strings that ascend, then descend.

If you add a few more elements, it will help you make different sequences, easier.

Yeah...... I'm feelin' this track. UR definitely headed in the right direction.
