Final mixes on my band's CD in entirety: need comments on what mastering could help!

This cd has been playing uninterrupted in my car for about a week now, still loving it!

Do you care if I put an mp3 of Dark Design on my myspace player? Sounds like you're giving it away and prolly wont mind, just making sure.

Sweet! Yeah feel free, as long as we're properly credited and whatnot :) In fact, if you can figure out a way to have www.ironthrones.com on there somewhere, then you're good to go!

Hey, I like the model you have going for getting this album out there. I curious to know what sort of turnout you have getting people to download and/or donate.

I'm just curious, because if I finished a CD, I think I'd take the same approach. I'm just wondering how well it works.

It's difficult to tell in such a (relative) short time-span. We're a new band to 99% of the people listening to us, and we haven't had a chance to really get out and play live, so the potential of the "business model" I don't believe can be fully realized just yet.

That said, I know we've had 1,000+ people download the album, and have many very positive reviews in several countries, and I attribute that directly to our release model. We've had at least 10 people download the album from iTunes (even though it remains freely available on our site) and have had 6 people donate between $2 and $10 to us (which, consequently, allowed us to put our songs on iTunes, Amazon, and eMusic for free).

The CD just went up for sale today, but we've sold at least 10 copies at shows so far (we've had them only at 2 shows, so it's not too bad). We'll see how far it takes us, but I can't think that giving people as many ways to get the album as possible can do anything but good things for us!

Bump. I downloaded you first album a long time ago (because you posted the link) but now I bought The Wretched Sun. What a great release, hope the band get more presence with that CD. Congratulations for the album. BTW, are you really composing a new record?

Thanks! I'm glad you dig it. And yes, we are writing a new record!
