Final Mix... finally

Well im back with my final mix of this song. I'm just gonna send it over to the artist in case there are any last changes but Im pretty sure hees good with it too. I would like any comments from you all, though. This was prolly my 3rd or 4th attempt at an acutal project. The guy is going to come in again soon to record. He was really impressed with my conduct and the product. I think he had lower expectations since im only 16... but I'm glad i fixed that :)

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty good man...
I know your gear and your set up so here are my thoughts...

needs bass big time to fill in the mix...
I heard cymbals but only hand drums.....where's the percusion?

BTW...the hand claps are sweet...so are the hand drums..
guit tone is good but could be warmer...
what I hear is a conflict on the highs...
I would cut the guit highs 3.2 and up. on the high end...
boost the level and add some verb....pretty tight but some .....

hey joro... thanks for the comments.

I think you are right about boostiing the bass track. There is acutally one in there for portions of the song. There is also no percussion other than the hand drums and cymbals. Ill also add a bit of verb too. For some reason when I did the final mix I noticed in the waveforms I was losing a good amount of data especially with limiters. Thats one reason i brought the level down... so i didnt have to squish it but maybe i need to play with the compression a little bit more.

Well ill get on it and post up as soon as I work a bit more.
