Alrighty, finally got the precise size (except for the ceiling, which I wont know for sure for about a week, but right now its looking to be 14 feet or higher)

The room will be:

* 21'4 wall here *

Ok gonna post this before it times me out.... more to follow...

Stupid POS skewed my drawing, let me get it fixed up right if I can... damnit... more to come...

ok it wont let me fix it...
anyway, the dimensions are 22ft 2 inches
by 21ft 4 inches... the steps are on the right side, not the left, and the control room door is at the top of the steps. approx 5-7 feet high, on the north wall.... the south wall will have a 9 foot garage door that I will probably either a)frame in or B) makes some gobos to put in front of it or c) I'm open for suggestions.
I'll be the 3rd house from the end of a quiet dead-end street, with plenty of space from neighbors on either side and no neighbors at all across the street.
The ceiling will be around 14 ft high. There will also be a standard man door to exit outside on the left wall, about 2 feet from the garage door wall. The walls and ceiling will be drywall.
Recessed lighting throughout.
More to come in a minute....

damnit why wont that work for drawing? what a POS... I need a place to post a drawing...

Well, anyway, I tried to scan something and it didnt work either.

Lets start with the main room, and I'll get to the control room afterwards...
Like I said, its 22ft 2in, by 21 '4 with a ceiling in excess of 13 ft.

What is my 1st phase of attack? (live rock bands, and lots of drum tracking to go on in this room)

My initial idea is to build or buy some real bass traps, like from realtrap.com, and get at least 2 corners taken care of. How high or low do I need to go with those, considering the unusual high ceiling height? My second idea was to diffuse about a 6ft by 6 ft area over where the drums will usually be set up. The auralex T'fusors are what I was planning to use there.
What about reflection problems and absorption? There is the tricky part. I dont want it all the way dead, but I dont want an oil tanker either. I'm thinking at least one row of 2 foot 2 in foam along the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling, on the northern wall, and both side walls at least halfway down to the garage door.
Also, what should I do about the garage door? Gobos? Frame it in (not at attractive option, but not impossible either) etc?

Thanks for any help. I'll get to the control room in a day or two.

Are you on a Mac? if not, just use Paint and post it here as a .JPG - needs to be less than 64k, so keep the size down to maybe 600 x 480 and you're there... Steve
