Good point about the soundfonts, that would be a kick in the ass if I had to leave them behind. They have been a good friend in many ways.
I will check out the cards you suggest, but dam it there's always something that bumps the active nearfields of the top of the wish list.
The Beyer DT100's are good for isolation and tracking, but mixing is a pain in the ass. You know the deal, do six variations on a theme, burn to disk and see which one works best in the real world. Then hope to god you can remember what your settings where for that particular mix.

If Dobbies a good boy, maybe Master will let Dobbie buy some monitors.
I aint figured out a cover story for the monitors yet, but I'm working on it. Wonder if I show Master some monitors with the same wood finish as the table, Mmmm Dobbie has a plan!!!
