what should the file be saved as before i burn the final mix onto a cd? im using nero, and have been saving as .wav and burning to cd.

on a side note does nero convert mp3s to another format when it burns an audio cd?

Standard Red-Book Audio CDs (playable in any consumer CD player) must have the tracks in 44.1khz/16-bit wav before being burned.

Depending on the program you're using for burning CD's, you might be able to burn from MP3 directly to CD, but why would you want to do that. If you have an uncompressed WAV file, you're fine. Any changes will result in poorer quality or exactly the same quality.
