Fight For The Sunlight (Original R&B/Hip-Hop-ish tune)

If you are up to listening to an experement, have a listen to this song. With this song I tried to step out of my self given boundries, and step into another genre for a second. I have always said if I think a song sounds cool, I don't care what genre it is in. It's all music, so I thought that should apply to my stiuff as well. Please give me your thoughts.

You're lucky, I just got my new Grado earphones. That was nice thru these.
Quality meets quality.

Can see big things things for you.

Nice bass, eq'd well into the mix - not over dominant.
Vocals in pitch.
Love the rhythm.
A bit shortened ..? 3:15
Like the mild touch of metalizer/morphoder on voice. It's the big thing in Asia these days, you know that?

Very vintage in a way that it reminds me of the music the eighties
should have produced, rather than the faggot rock (GNR et al) that we ended up with.
Sorry, subjective thoughts - this ain't about that.

Good stuff. But, would like a bridge of sorts to extend it and give it some different themey opinion thing going on in an alter bridge, so a little short(ened.)

To my ears, it doesn't seem that much different than your usual stuff, except this has a more "hip-hop" sounding drum beat behind it. I don't know if I'd consider it R&B or hip-hop-ish, but that's a good thing.

Mix is good. Maybe could use a little more bass. I like all the little claps and whatever that jangly thing is doubled over the snare. Dry tambourine?

It's heaps different than other songs (that I listened to) that you have on S/C which don't have harmonies, and don't sound as original or nearly as good. This is much better than the 4 or so listened to.
I think this particular song starts as good as a decent Depeche Mode song - as a sort of comparison. But, it doesn't carry thru. The first two minutes, excellent. After that peters out. Is that fair? I dunno. Need a bridge or summink like that.

Well though I do have to differ about the quality of my other songs which is backed up by the many posotive reviews the great people at this board have given me. (And if you know them, you know they don't unless they mean it)

Thanks Heat. No, actually it's a layered fiddle patch from bandstand ran through an amp simulator, and faded. I can't even believe you remember The Light. guess I have a fan after all. Kind of odd sense I am a fan of yours as well. Thanks a lot for the listen dude.

I can hear where the synth pop comparisons are coming from; very icy with a cool, aloof quality to the vocal. The chorus is great, nice melody. It does need a bridge or some type of arrangement change up IMO.

I applaud you for trying different things and experimenting. I dug your stuff on your SoundClick page and you definitely have a unique sound. I know I get really bored tracking the same type of songs so I'll just up and try something funky and foreign to me. 90% of the time it comes out well, or at least into something I can learn from. Tired? Why yes. Quite tired, but my spelling is always in pieces. When I'm more awake though I tend to actually care enough to catch my mistakes. May I ask how you came to the conclusion that my spelling went to pieces when I was tired, because I don't remember ever mentioning I was tired. (just wondering) In any case though, you're very right. Thank for the suggestions.

When I used the word 'better' to describe this 'compared to the other 4 songs I listened to' the word better means 'more immediately accessible' or 'commercial.'
Not saying the others contain less art, it's just that this one has more immediate impact.
