Hello , here's the first mix of a new instrumental I'm finishing up. I Finally got what I think is a good tone on my Ibanez bass and G&L electric. I've saved them both as a track templates so I won't forget what I did. Pretty lean project , 7 tracks total. Thanks for the listen and any comments , crits and suggestions .. mark

Only 7 tracks, I applaud your minimalist approach. :D
Sounds great here. Guitar riffs are very cool. What are you using for drums? Mix is well balanced and clear.
No suggestions from me, you must be pretty happy with this one

@Bulls Hit , Thank's. And yes , I'm happier with this one than I have been in a long time. I may put some Oohs and Aaas in one section but I don't think I'm going to mess with it much.
The drums are MT Power drums. Very easy to use and normally don't need any EQ adjusments etc .. They are "free" but always throw up a screen for donations when you open a project that has them. Well worth downloading. Thanks .. mark

Thanks @RFR , I'm thinking it's pretty close. But .. of course I'll have to mess with a few things that probably No one else would be concearned with.
@TripleM , appreciate the listen and comment. The fiddle was real and "borrowed" from a mixing tutorial a fellow Cakewalk user recently sent me. It was full of drum bleed and drifting timing . I got the bleed out with EQ and Reafir. (Free Reaper plugin) I chopped it up , retimed and repitched a lot of it using Melodyne to fit the song. I liked the track well enough to write everything around it. Lots of work , but I've Totally given up on playing a fiddle. Thanks .. mark

Good job on the fiddle edits. It sounded real. Didn’t seem manipulated at all. It has that nice sound of a real violin filling up the room.

Thanks Guys. I've decided not to do anything else to this except for some mild tweeking and some short vocal humming. The link now reflects a mild remix after downloading room correction software.
Now I'll have to save up for new strings .. Later .. mark

Nice groove. Great grove.
Snare is nice as well as the tore up cymbals.
Great interplay amongst the players.
Love the way the bass keep his place.
Sweet bridge. Memories of Jean-Luc Ponty.
Man - this is sweet. Really slowing me down - thanks.

@HumanPlanet , @keith.rogers , @Notfonts , Thank you for listening and your comments. @Manslick , Jean-Luc Ponty was quite a stretch . ? but I'll take it. I'm calling this one done . I surrender .. mark

This sounds very nice, that fiddle is excellent. For me the snare is a bit hot and needs more variety in the velocity/volume (it's a bit mechanical). A small thing and a very nice tune.
