Hey Fender. Not a bad job. Particularly for only playing for a year, I thought it was pretty damn good.

The acousitc guit sounded first rate. The drumming was terrific. The sound on the drums was extememly good. I love that sound you got on the kick. I liked the sound on the bass - though it's competing with the kick a bit.

As you've sort of indicated, the weakness is in the vocals. However, I'd say that through some of those sections the harmonies didn't sound too bad. I'd work with different mic positions (how far away from the mic were you when you tracked the vox?). Maybe experiment (if possible) with different mics. The vocals had a "far off" sound to them, but I think that's somewhat easily fixed with a little practice.

I'd recommend keeping the harmonies tight. There was a section or two where the high part continued after the melody line stopped. My personal preference would be to sync them up.

Again, terrific post. Please keep at it and post more.

Ricardo Gearardo!
Kick ass, brah! Those acoustics were muy el dulce. I loved the harmony vocals. Really added a nu skewl flava. Drums were tight, but I thought the cymbals could have uses some eq touches. Nothing major, though. Great snare. Anywho, great job! I'm proud of ya, son! You better not sell those drums, either damnit!

wow, pretty good but it doesnt match that "Rico Suave" song you did years ago:rolleyes:

I can remember you in Vox Chat complaining about how your acoustic guitar recordings sounded crap and then i heard it...bullshit.....you got some skillz.....

the acoustic sounds great.....the drums sound good but it could use some fine tuning EQ....but the drumming is rock solid......

the vocal could be better, but who am i to talk:D .....but your voice has a very unique quality to it.....

for a first attempt, this is pretty awesome......

id sell sperm, blood, and plasma before i sold those drumz.....a liver gets a pretty good $$ on ebay and hell, you only need one......

good stuff, Rick....i hope you keep some gear.....ill hit you up for some vocal work on a Gidge tune......

Nice job Rick!Acoustic guitar sounded beautiful.A few timing issues.Did you play to a click track.
Hope you get back on your feet and recording again soon.

wow that guitar sounds great.....

very cool..whats all the complaining about the vocal??...i mean its not steve perry but so fucking what its solid and not all wavery ...and your just starting out...fuck i think it sounds great!.
the whole mix is pretty darn good ..the drums are nice and THUMPY!!!...man those harmonies are pretty nice. why the hell dont you post more songs??....POST MORE

Yo homey! you had me all setup to be diplomatic-with your description-then those acoustics started up and I'm like whaaa? Really nice acoustic tone and good playing too. Other folks have covered the vocals-yes you go out a few times-but the overall feel is good-if you patched up a few spots you'd be there-One thing noone mentioned and I'm surprised is the kick drum-that sucka is louuuud!-I think it could come down a bit and if you bring the bass guitar up to meet it halfway you'd have a powerful bottom end going on! Thats all I have to add to whats been said-I really like the song-reminds me of Alice in Chains acoustic stuff-nice song W.I.S.C.! Real good job F.L.G.!!

p.s.--I'll be playing this coming friday with some friends(not my real band) in Monroe-place called Cheeta Marie's---you can pm me for details if you're interested....

Considering you've only been playing for a year that is great. You captured a very good acoustic guitar sound. I hear some good qualities to your voice. Keep on practicing with it. Just need to keep in on pitch a little more and sing with some more confidence.

Nice job. Keep it up.

Helpless,Speechless...

Thank's for everything, WISC!!!!!!

a very relieved RICK:D

Good song. grows on you. Very soothing rendition. I could have heard the vocals up a little louder, especially since it is the sole melodic element and focus of the tune.

I didn't like the backing vocals too much, for me they just distracted from the deep main vocal line which I liked.

Great sounds all around.

That's a serious bummer, dude! :( You did a great job on this. I was looking forward to hearing more from you.

I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, but hopefully it's only for a short time. And look on the bright side, when things are good again you can buy ALL NEW GEAR!:D
