i feel like i might've already asked this, but i can't remember the answer, so here goes...

does anyone know of any outboard effects boxes that best approximate the reverb and/or tremolo of old fender twins? i'm assuming the holy grail is going to be the choice on reverb, but i'm not sure on tremolo. it seems to me that fender could make alot of money selling a single (tube driven, i would assume) reverb/tremolo pedal designed specifically to reproduce that of an old twin reverb or something.

any ideas?

Fender sells the reissue tube Reverb unit. It's outboard and with a few easy mods matches the vintage ones closely (so I've heard). This outboard is a better reverb than the combo amps because it has reverb tone and dwell controls. It's made for guitar input so I don't know if line level is ok. Sorry if you already know all this and are just looking for a stomp box.

no that sounds like exactly what i'm looking for, thanks alot.

Before you rush out and spend it might pay to check out the reverb tank market. To the best of my knowledge Fender didn't make their own in the past and still don't. There a couple of companies that made the various tanks for everyone.

Last I checked, they were going for around 5 hundo. You could almost find yourself a deluxe reverb for that much, if you shop around. I was always disappointed by how pricey their stand alone verb units cost.
