Oh man....
Not this tired old debate again.....

The radio airplay and library book arguments are tired, old, and show a lack of understanding of how media distribution works.

The bottom line is - Copying someones' copyrighted work is illegal and wrong. Doesn't matter if you're burning it onto a disc that you will only use to fan yourself on hot days, copying the data is wrong.

Any other conclusion is a flawed rationalization.

p.s. - I never take a "my way or the highway" postion about anything on this board, but man , this debate is getting old.

You're offended?... well boo hoo to you...
So YOU download music huh?... I guess thats ok, right?.... I see no one jumping your shit...
hmmmmm... can you say hypocrite?...I knew you could....

Someone shares a copy of their program, poor poor billion dollar software company.... get a grip... you're probably the same people bitching about Bill Gates making hundreds of billions off of you...
I pay for the software I use.. USE being the key word....
I'm sure you all break the law in someway... (smoking pot... driving after a couple too many... etc.)... dont compare wrongs, you break one law or commit one sin and you break em all....
You cant pick and choose the ones you want.... So those of you without sin... you know the rest...

The difference is that we are not trying to justify what we do wrong.

You claimed you are poor, so you should have some devine right to certain things. That is a cop-out. (You have the internet, right...you are not that poor.)

On a side note, I would like to have started Microsoft...but I don't hate Gates for thinking of it before me. ...or all the rockstars that have already made it.

("Artistic integrity"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Fuck that. First rule of being a man is to be the provider. Put food on the table.)

Kelly,

We all do things we later regret.
We all say things we later regret.
We all post things in haste that we really shouldn't have.

I don't think any of us can claim to having never broken the law.

Let's do the noble thing and allow this now hijacked thread to die a natural death. Let's get on with something a little more constructive.

I think it would be fun to put the standard Fender Stratocaster logo on my Fender Squier Stratocaster, and maybe it will make it sound better too. lol. Anyway, would that be breaking the law?

Well it would be breaking the law of physics for a Squire play and sound as good...........

I'm not "out on the street homeless" poor, but I am on a fixed income (disability)... whether wrong or right sometimes I do try to cut corners... I try to make ends meet to the best of my ability, so I'm not perfect... but I'm not using it as an excuse for the things I do...
Anyway....

So on that note I'll let this die....

:)

yeah i dload music ....

yeah i do and i have gotten free copies of software that people put out on the web as free shareware it's to entice you to buy the full version ,and, there are alot of artist's that put out free music to dload .....look i'm not here to argue your morality,or defend mine ,but if you're gonna get stuff on the cheap don't blame society or your level of income ...and ease up on the caffiene dude some are only joking

I am gonna have to disagree with this statement. I have a MIJ Squire Strat from 83-84 that is a great instrument. Only mod I did was put a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in the bridge position. I wouldnt trade the damn thing!!!
