Hey im using GT2 and im trying to do some Jason Becker cover songs. My problem is theres a high squealing noise in the background when im playing high pitched notes. I have the recording levels set so I shouldnt get that. In other words, all levels are in the green.... what gives?

Okay I did a quick example so you guys coudl hear. I am using a pod btw, in case that could help you somehow. And yes, the output level on my POD is wayyy down.

Record the passage that creates the most feedback with a couple different pod patches to attempt to exclude the pod as a problem source.. If you can eliminate the pod then you start to look at your soundcard which you didn't mention the name of.

what I use

OK.... sorry guys for not telling you my equipment!! Guess that would help. Lets see.... soundcard is "SIS 7018 Wave", my sound blaster im not sure about, but the front of the main unit says "SoundWorks Slim500".

My main guitar I use for recording is a Parker Nitefly. I go in direct from just a POD 2.0. I've realized it only makes that annoying noise with one patch I use... unfortunately, my favorite one.

Gerbilking,
How are you monitoring your guitar? Try another guitar with the same setting on your pod. Any chance of a dead fret?
