feedback on this song...

Maybe it's my PC speakers but I'm getting a bit of distortion - especially the vocals....clipping???

Nice voice - powerful, smooth and nice pitch.

The percussion sticks/bongos???, (for example around 2:00) are a bit too busy - just personal preference.

The keyboard sounds good and the guitar has nice sustain.

Nice tune to listen to and dance to - good beats.....

The production values are up quite a bit from other songs I listened to. I did'nt hear any distortion myself, and the mix was fine,,,,,I do agree with Ido that the percussion thingy around 2:00 is a bit busy..Overall I'd say good job. Might try doubling the vocals here and there to see how it would affect the dynamics of the song. Good work!!!!
 
yea, the percussion on 2:00 is something that ive always wanted to try, because ive heard it before, maybe i mite want to lower the velocity down abit! its the indian percussion (tabla)
 
okay, vox blow my mind. Hehe, but you warned us :) Anyway, just wanted to say that I dig the piano sound, very nice. Some good sounds overall, an engaging electronic piece. Good songwriting too, some real interesting parts/sounds in there. Yeah, the 2:00 percussion part sounds like a machine gun or something, the synth and run after that is excellent. The same run IMO would sound even cooler as an acoutic guitar or if you added an acoutic ontop of the keyboard. Overall, nothing really to suggest, production sounds excellent. Very cool, even though I don't understand the vox, they sound good in the mix ;)
 
Man, good job on the mix. Like the mix. The instrumentation is very nice and the arrangement is very nice.

The tablas sound programmed instead of played by a real player.

The vox are a little too high. On the home theater system it pierces the speakers at high volumes. Maybe lower or compress.

Really like the effect behind the vox around 2:50. And 3:07.

Are you using soundfonts for drums or what. They sound cool. How's about the pianos. :)
 
hey, thanx for that, did it sound good on the home theatre system??? i bet it did!! as for the vocals yes i will try and reduce the levels abit, all the melody, backing strings and piano came from my roland xp60!! (also the distorted guitar) it took me 5days producing this song with (39hours of work aswell) including recording the vocals(wich were already written beforehand) although im still tweakin the masterin levels! but i would say its the best track ive produced yet! hopefully more to come..and evan better!! :)
