Feedback on my song... Whatcha think?

This is a song I did the other day with me on drums and my friend on guitar. I recorded it in my basement with Nuendo, adn Echo Laya recording card, Samson 16 ch mixer, a pack of CAD drum mics, 3 sm 57s (2 on snare 1 on amp), and an Oktava 219 for overheads. This is a rough cut, second take of us ever playing it, so there's a couple of botches, nothing all that big though. Feedback on everything from the playing to the mix (it's a semi-rough mix) I would balance the clean and distorted guitar a bit better volume wise if this was the real take. http://www.angelfire.com/nd1/nikescape

I think you'll have real cool tune when you'll add a groovy bassline and a nice set of vocals. In my ears the distorted guitar and the open hihat sounds a bit harsh in the heavypart of the song. keep it coming....

Good song.
The guitar is somewhat thick here and there. Maybe it's suppose to be, but I found it outta place.

This song needs a nice melody (more than likely from a vox track) and a bigger punch in the dynamic changes.

If you're wondering if it is worth persueing, HELL YEAH.

Cool, thanks for the replies, yesterday we tried to redo it to fix some problems, but it was definatly an off day for both of us, and we couldn't do anything right. There are lyrics, but I haven't seen them yet, and I've been kicking some around, but haven't written them down yet. I'll definatly repost it once we get a solid more final verson.
