hey, be brutally honest about these beats - i made them quite a while ago and with a machine that i have since disregarded. im really wondering if i should take the time to "redo" any of them on my new -- KORG TRITON

hell, they may even be off beat - but like i said, i just want a non biased opinion as to whether or not any of them have "something" salvageable in them

holla n thanks

if the link doesnt work - its soundclick.com/GrymEEbEEtMakerz

well i say if you gonna redo any of them redo do Pop-a-colla and Strugglin...i think those care turn out nice..

thats pretty messed up.

my feedback- note, i'm not a rap guy whatsoever.- i would describe them as sounding, well, cheap-midi-like. the concepts are there, but better sounds would help much.

why not work with a sampler on a computer? i use sampletank for a lot of techno/house stuff, and that program is so flexible, you can get any sound you want from it if you play with it enough.

these aren't really beats i don't think.. they are some good concepts that can be turned into some great beats so just work at it and go wit the flow

well thlanks for the honest feedback. i will start workin on 1 of them (may be pop a collar) and post something later.

at the same time, as far as the track not being a "beat" but a concept - please explain so i can be more focused on that particular point . . .

thanks

Man if u take a little time and effort with that TAKE ME HOME that shit would KILL

listen to a song and follow the beat then listen to your beat and notice the difference. na thas not good enough wut i'm tryin to say is you have a looped pattern goin on and you need more solid drums in there and also some effects and different sounds throughout the beat to keep it from getting boring and then it will be a beat u know?

ok i feel u a little bit on that - that will be something i address in the "re-mix" lol

1. better drums (i.e. stronger kicks, crisper slaps, + a hi hat pattern)
2. more instruments (although i really like the more simplistic melodies that are out there) - such a fine line between too many and not enough instruments/harmonies, etc.

ok thats the problem i have with tracks..i love to keep it simple but a few artist like more instrument in the track...

I have said it once before somewhere else..the more instrument you have in a track..IMO..takes away from the featured aartist on the track..

but sometimes its nice to do it, but other times its not..but the client know what they want right...so i will give them what they want...

but most are happy when its simple and hot :D

yea im still, however, trying to get my head wrapped around the difference between having a concept and not a "beat" . . .

I think what he is trying to say is everything sounds like it's still in an "idea" stage. That's atleast what I got out of it.

ok - well in that case, i guess i do "git it" - hmmm - well i will post "someting" . . . once i have let all this mesh

tlhanks for the feedback!

thats exactly what i meant by that sorry u couldn't think of those words :p
