Feedback needed on this prog rock track!

the track is called Surface to Air Jordan. My band recorded and performed it in my basement. Id like feedback on what you think about the mixing, arrangement, whatever. I want to hear what you think!

I dig the drum sounds. But I'm not a fan of the way the bass and guitar tones change between sections. The bass in the bass break is reeeeaaallly fuzzy, it's hard to make out the notes. IMO it would sound better with the same tone as the beginning of the song. And that octave lead - I think it'd sound better with the same tone as the fast picking.

Overall I think the mix is pretty good though, and the playing is really nice :D
 
The bass break do you mean the faster bridge around 2:05 and 3:12? Or do you mean the end, when its just drums and bass? If you are taking about the start of the end, I added that much distortion for flavor. If you are talking about the faster parts at 2:05 and 3:12, I agree. I can work on making those sound a bit more clear. Glad you like the playing and thanks for your feedback!
 
Think you've done a great job getting the kick to stand out in the mix and the whole thing has a natural sounding dynamic range to it. I think the snare could have more 'pop', but that could be more of a reflection of my tastes than anything else. Also agree with the change in bass tone around the 5 minute mark - not sure if it's suited to this genre. Other than those minor points great job!
 
Download problem twice - just got to the 80's twaang bass & it cuts out!
