Hi!

This is probably an easy question becuase I've had the same problem years ago but I don't remember how I solved it.

I'm connecting a mixer to my sound cards inputs and outputs. When I plug in the cables I get a feedback inside the mixer. It does not make a difference if the speakers is on or off. I've tried sending the the output through aux but it doesn't help.

What have I forgotten?

I know I'm stating the obvious...but you have created a feedback loop with your I/O connections.

One of your connections if feeding back the same signal path to the source where it originates...hence the loop and the feedback.

It has nothing to do with your speakers.

Do one of two things...
Take a good look at where/what is going and coming from...if you don't spot the problem connection, pull all the outputs from both mixer and soundcard...*one-by-one*...and see if you can find the connection that is creating the loop.

Without knowing your exact setup and equipment, it's hard to tell you more specifically where the problem is coming from.

Well I needed to hear the obvious :) I had to connect the outputs from the sound card to the mixers CD/TAPE-In and the problem was solved.
