fd-8 and internal hard drive

Hey all,
I have a fostex fd-8 and I'm considering putting and internal hard drive into it. Is this somthing I can do on my own and purchase the IDE hard drive at the local computer store??? Are all the cables already in there if I wanted to do it on my own?? Is there some specific typ of hard drive I need and can I do it or does fostex have to install it???

If you don't already have HD installed I believe the install can only be done by fostex, it requires a hardware modification. Call the cust svc to verify............
