I was just wandering what you favorite brand of drums was.

Currently using a nice set of DW drums. I sure do miss the old Slingerland and Ludwig drums from the 60s and 70s.

I really dig Fibes, they have a nice sound. Second to that would be a nice Sonor kit, which I think is the company that own Pacific...

I'm not gonna vote, but I've had Rogers, Stewarts, Ludwigs and Mapex.

The Stews sucked. The Ludwigs were clear acrylic inherited from my brother and they rocked when I was 15.

I just sold the Mapex but would have kept them if my studio was big enough to get a good recording. They were sexy as hell (clear cherry laquer) and sounded great.

mmmm premier signia's ....fell in love when i first saw one shortly after i first started, bought one finally two years ago,im scared to touch it...love the thing, other than that id say yamaha's and grestch oh and tama

cymbals-zildjians...love k's

i haven't come across a new kit that i have liked so much, but if i had to get a new one, a custom d.w. would be the go........anyone spare some loose change?

I love my Premier Signia's, the Marquis are good too, thicker shells and die cast hoops. I just saw a drum clinic with Gene Lake (Screamin Headless Torsos drummer), Definately the best sounding drums i have ever heard. Small room, nothing was miked, just amazing. He played Premier Gen-X. I'm happy with my Signia's but if I got anything new in the near future it would be the Gen-X. Can't go wrong with DW either.

I feel you are missing one major brand and thats Tama. I have had a ludwig set which I liked. I enjoy my Tama set the most though. Oh with me its Sabian all the way around.

I have realized many brands I failed to put into the poll. Sorry. I will try another poll in a few days to where I use the maximum of 12. Thanks Matt

I own a set of the old Pearl "extender series" with the oversized hoops. Really punchy live but not much chop in the studio.
I would really like a Sonor kit.

Nice drum kits fenix! I especially liked the Tropic set and the Mint set.

Yes, well...I really like any custom drums. I live fairly close to where medicineman drums are made and I will be purchasing a set in a couple months.

Other custom drums I like: C&C and Orange County Drums and percussion.

Tama Starclassic Maple is also pretty good too because you can order the size shells you want.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that I have an extreme disliking for the stock standard 16x22, 10x12, 16x16, etc...I absolutely hate walking into mars and all the drums are the same size. What fun is that?

I also absolutely hate seeing the biggest crash cymbal I can get w/o specially ordering is an 18" crash--when most of your rock players out there play slightly larger crashes.

YAMAHA!!!

Hey, they make great Dirt Bikes... So, the drums must be decent :D

Most companies make at least one good drumset these days. My faves are the Pearl Masters Studio Custom (birch baby!). Great drums for the money. I'd probably be happy with Yamaha, DW, and Tama Artstars too. Shit, if you get the right heads for your sound and tune them right, they're all gonna sound good!
