Seen alot of posts in other forums pertaining to best guitarist, bass player and in here, best MC, producer but never a best DJ thread so I figured I'd start one. I'm mostly into dance stuff, progressive Trance/House mainly so....

Well that about raps up my awards. I guess in retrospect most of the DJs I love are pretty mainstream, but I've only been seriously into the scene for about two/three years now so what can ya do. Anyways I guess that's alot of this thread's objective, maybe somebody will open my/our eyes to an incredible DJ, label, producer or otherwise. Hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did (why I'm not quite sure?!?)

I like Amon Tobin. ;)

Pretty obvious choices for someone from Montreal.

Dooh, giaschel you've pointed out my ignorance/stupidity (lack of short term memory, damn green shit!), K&D are definiely in my top five, I can't believe I neglected to put them in, AT ALL! I guess I often don't even associate them with most DJ's cause they're sound is so organic, I put them in the same category as Radiohead, which for me is tops. Oh and btw, Kid Koala toured NA w/ Radiohead this summer, I went to nine shows and hence saw the lad nine times, he's great (the Montreal show was the first and it rocked). My favorite track of his is Drunken Trumpet, it's so cool how he plays the record on that track, boy gets a workout when he performs.

I was there too. It was amazing! I had the chance to meet him at a Wagon Christ set (Luke Vibert). Nice guy.

I actually forgot about Vibert.

Best DJ for mixing all kinds of shit in his set: Luke Vibert.

I guess there is not many people into DJs here. Where's SPIN?

Best Dj's
Nick Warren
Emerson
Timo Maas
Ben Sims
Sven Väth

Best producer&dj at same time: (tie)
Sven Väth
Ben Sims (3 table techno dj.. yo..)

Yeah giaschel, I thought I was actually responsible for a midly fun/popular topic when I started it but I guess the majority of headz in here are hip-hoppers, not that they shouldn't be into DJs either, I don't know man, kinda wierd IMO.
