I think it should work OK with IE4 + but I'd like to try it on the lower versions.

Do you know any third party software that could let me install that, I only have one harddrive and fdisk wouldn't work so it's also one big partition!

Hummm!

I hate Flash... Steve Vai uses Flash, but has a simple html version for everything. I have a friend who is a VP in a Seattle based Graphics company, they specialize in guilding website for corporations. I sent him my page once and he said it sucked, I agreed because it does in my opinion.
Anyhow Im pretty finicky about html coding and layouts, I built the Boeing Internal F-22 website, its much better than my personal page, but it paid better too.

The only thing I don't like about the Blue Bear site is the Huh? on all of the specifications for the equipment list. Its a personal taste thing, but I hate redirections of the root page or home page. Pop-ups are equally annoying.

A page must be inviting, fast, simple to navigate, and informational. Try to bring flash up on a 28.8 modem, anysite that tells me to add plug ins or upgrade my browser immediately gets closed.

Do not use my website as an example of what to do, buy rather use it to see how annoying they can be ;)

Peace,
Dennis

No Flash

Just incase you were refering to my site having flash, it doesn't! It's rollovers, I think it might be quite hard to navigate through though, as I know how to find what I want I find it easy!

As for the message to update stuff I'm gunna delete that in a minute, because it's not actually true! Apart from the cookies bit, if people want to sign up to the forums and have it remember the info.

OK, I'll go and do that in a minute! lol

Virtual PC for Windows lets you do this. I'm not sure how, but it's supposed to work.

I'm not sure you need to worry about supporting IE versions before 4. That's going back six or seven years now. In fact, I think the only time I've ever had to use a 3.* version of IE was whenever I installed NT4. That was back when Netscape was the better browser.

sorry, I worded that all wrong! What I meant was that I am using IE6 and would like to try it on 4 and 5, just to make sure! lol

Just changed the message! just going to upload it now!

Cheers

PS - Where can I get virtual PC from?? Is it freeware?

Nope, it's not free - $200. There is a 45 day trial version though, and then of course there are the less scrupulous methods...

Is this better?

OK! The message now reads "It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer 4 or above, with a screen resolution of 800 x 600, to view this site" - Is that better? Or do you think I should just leave that out completely?

Give me your opinions!

ok!

OK, I might try that sometime. Or just find someone to try it out for me (maybe the easier option). I don't really know any reason why it shouldn't work OK though! I don't really know whats different in IE6 to the older versions, except for the media thing and a few cosmetic bits etc!

Thanks for your input

I just remembered something... There used to be this site that rendered your web page based upon the browser of your choosing. You submit a URL to your page and then tell them what browser you want to test in and it does it for you. Try searching Google.

I'll have a look!

Now that is a really good idea, I'll try to search for that, see if I can find it, or something similar.

Cheers

good

That site was nice, just had a quick look. I think it could do with a little pre-loader, it didn't take long to load but was a little jerky to start off with. Oh and I had a slight horizontal scrollbar which I hate! But apart from those little picks it was very very good.
