Hello fellow music lovers! I have a serious problem. I own a fantom x6 as well as Cubase LE(old I know) I love the sounds from both of them. What I would like to do is play and record the sounds from my fantom in cubase. Cubase recognizes the fantom by showing volume levels when I press a key but there is no sound coming out from the fantom I just want to midi those sounds from the fantom to cubase. PLEASE HELP!!!! PLEASE!

You cannot "midi" sounds, midi is just note and controller data. If you want to have the sounds from your fantom in cubase, you need to record them just like any audio.

YEp, midi is control only. Use the stereo outputs to feed your interface.

Use MIDI connections to record the MIDI performance data onto a MIDI track in Cubase (i.e. sequence your performance).
Use audio connections to record the audio output from the Fantom onto an Audio track in Cubase.

I always sequence the MIDI data first, and then have Cubase play it back and record the audio. This gives me the flexibility to edit the MIDI performance (if necessary) before freezing it into audio.

thanks people so are you saying that I can record the audio and midi info and then "freeze" the MIDI track into audio? And will it play the tones that I played on the fantom? Sorry if the questions seem silly, I'm really confused and want to know what and how I can use my fantom and cubase together. Any help is appreciated. If anyone could tell me step by step how to connect and use my fantom with Cubase LE I thank you.

Sorry I think my freezing comment can be confusing. You can't really freeze a MIDI track as you would with VST instruments. what I meant was I first sequence my performance into a MIDI track which allows for some editing freedom (ex. applying quantize). then once I am happy with it I have Cubase play back the MIDI track while recording the audio outputs of my synth.
