dl'ing now, I've already got $5 that says they're not too loud.
:) any takers?

Very cool, instantly one of my favs from you. Sounded Christmasy to me.

Nothing sounded out of place. Really liked the subtle tail on the last guitar solo (reverb, delay?).

Thouth of Zappa for some reason while listening.

spelling corrected ;)

Zappa meets The Beatles at Sam's place.:D

I ain't takin' that bet. Sounds pretty good to me.

Hang on: second listen on the new cans........

Yup, a place for everything, and everything in it's place.

Dude can mix.

B,

I've heard a lot of Christmas songs and this doesn't fit the genre in my opinion but, I do like the track! It's a very creative piece!

The guitars sound fine in the mix but it is missing a bit of top end on the drum kit. I don't hear hardly any cymbal work at all.

Otherwise, very cool tunage!

Cheers! :)

Fuck Sam....do you ever have a bad mix?

how the hell did you twist the sound of the guits like that?

nice synth.......dramatic...ya know?

Drums are cool....they always are......
I like the orchestra hits...

unique for sure man,

Joe

Magical mystery tour 2003?
The mix seemed to be missing the high's in places. Almost sounds cut and pasted . The overall mix is good. Some cool soloing with that Vai tone. The solos could come up a bit or just lower the Synth bass and that could work. The kick got buried by the bass. The snare sound great to me. Some good trippin music for sure.

very creative if nothing else....the mix sounds good, but kind of plain in a vanilla way. Everything just sounds too synthesized for my tastes. INteresting though, thanks for sharing it!

Interesting piece. To answer the question, I myself don't think the guitars are too loud. I think any changes in level from here could only be based purely on artistic point of view.

Cool

Alright! This is EXCELLLENT! One of your best, I think. :)

I love the string patch you are using for this. Very effective. Just the quirkyness of the piece sets a great tone and instantly draws you in. Composition wise, this is excellent. I don't know if you have lyrics or not, but I kind of like it as an instrumental. This said "1st Move" ... will there be other sections?

Mix wise, sounded real good on the headphones. Would like the drums to be up just a tad especially the kick. I like the drumming, just think it is too far back in the mix relative to the strings. The guitar sits nicely.

I love this piece!

:D

I didn't hear any guitars:( .....or gtr solos

five cucumbers

the synths do sound good........very interesting composition........

the switch at 1:20 seems slightly abrubt......almost like the strings need to follow over a bit for continuity.........

very cool...great mix

Impeccable

I can't find a damned thing to critique - it's awesome! Not only does everything fit, everything's got some new-fangled spin on it. Three major thumbs up - and I applaud your talent!

(imagine picture of tux- and gown-clad folk with big smiles and raw hands from clapping)

So where are we going here? You have "First Movement" in parantheses - are we going with a symphonic-type full four movements? Maybe a tone poem with several movements?

Hahaha, this is just crazy.. i mean the day started with dobro's beez and finished with this. Uhm.. i am going to have some wild dreams tonight.

Now that i think about it this seems like the classical choir is on first, then its' sgt pepper, then it's the marriage of figaro, then the choir, then pepper, then samicide. Amazing in it's creativity and originality.

I like how you hold back on 1:20, not going into the groove.

If they made black and white silent movies today this would be the equivalent of what i would expect to be the soundtrack for like "Bad Boys circa 1918". You have the talking guitar down pat.

Is there a story behind this song? Like why you chose the movements you did?

I just listened to it on Windows Media Player with the visualization image set on "water." Hypnotizing!
I think I just quit smoking.

I like it.

Very, very cool. I wish I had something helpful to say. Sounds great to me. The guitar solos are not too loud. I'm very interested to hear where you're going with this being the first movement.

Hey Sam,
LOL... quirky man. You know, last year I used one of your tunes as the soundtrack for my holloween candy giving experience.... ...I might use this one this year. If i can get a Jack (from Nightmare before Christmas) costume, this tune would be perfect.
:D

I like the violin sample youre using in this, whats that from?

very cool brutha!

Sergeant Sabbath's Lonely Hearts Club Band? I don't even know where to start. I found myself so distracted by this I was not even listening to the mix. Same problem the second time through.

In another words, I really enjoyed this.  :D
