Hi

That's excellent, I like the guitars, vocals and synth (or is it another guitar making a lead ?). The snare sound is a bit weird but eh, why not.

Very nice work,

Jack Real.

Hi

Listening again, the guitar on the right from 1:11 to 1:14 is soo cool. What is your set-up to record guitars ? You must have 5 or 6 different sounds and they are all great.

Note: You might want to remove the song that is automatically playing when we enter your site, maybe people think that's the "Fan the Flames" song ?

Great arrangement and mixing. I agree with Jack about turning off the other music that automatically starts on the page, or link directly to Fan the Flames page.

The guitars in this are very well done... rich but articulate. Vocals are well performed and recorded, excellent sonority and the two voices have just the right contrasting tone. Vox though (both) are occasionally pitchy. If you could fix that this'd be a remarkable recording.

Tim

Great job. The snare sounds a little hollow if you know what I mean. Maybe eq a little hi into that. The hi-hats are a little plain, but that just might be loudness in the overall mix. Guitars sound great, and vocals are recorded well. Good job!

Thanks Jack! It was all guitars. On one of them, to give it a synth sound, i used a mutron biphase. As far as the snare sound, it was drums on demand drum loops. What can i say, i can't afford a real drummer right now. I could isolate the snare without changing the whole kit. Thanks for your input.

Sorry it's taken me so long to answer back about your question regarding my set up. You have good ears. I have exactly 6 guitars going in that spot you're referring to. The first two are a simple direct to computer recording meaning no effects, no amp, no color. Then i put 2 more tracks using a line 6 ax2212, using the david gilmour preset, panned of course. By the way, i use an american strat plus with emg dg-20 pickups which are the david gilmour pickups. As you can tell, i'm a big david gilmour fan. Then to add a little more flavor, i tracked another guitar using my own custom preset that resembles chris isaac's guitar tone. Then to polish it off, i tracked another with another of my own custom presets that basically is "65 Marshall JTM-45 modified. I hope this answers your question.

Hi

Yes, it answers my question. Very cool setting.

Thanks,

Jack Real.

I really like your guitar sound here..the panning/seperation sounds excellent!Mix seems kinda "hot" on my system really peaking on the heavier parts, sounds like maybe the hi-hat or something?...
Vocals sound real nice.Good song man,I dug it!

Thanks Tim, someone else mentioned before (on another forum) about pitchiness. I've gotta admit, i don't have a good ear when it comes to vocals because i'm such a terrible vocalist (that's not me singing). Is it mainly in the chorus?

Good job! Give us some info on how you recorded.
Actually, to answer this could be quite lengthy. I would love to answer any questions you may have about the process. If you could maybe specify what aspect are you talking about ie. equipment, mixing, recording, etc. Feel free to email me if you want something real detailed. I'd like to help.

Thanks! I'm thinking of redoing the drums. I appreciate your feedback.

I think it is the male vocalist during the chorus when he has his little solo thing he blurts out "fillsus with desire" or what ever he says at about the :55 and throughout the song is really way out of key and ruins a otherwise outstanding recording and performance for me.

great song and great arrangement and great recording. just the vocals at certain times are very bad, and most of time they are very good.

nice job.

I dislike the drum sound. Everything else sounds so nice and rich and here's this drum machine just sounding really mechanical and dynamically flat.

Some tambourine or shakers would reinforce that 16th note feel the chorus has.

Great vocals - please keep this stuff coming. Your voice is reminiscent of that guy from Live. Have you ever heard a band called Eleven? Check them out for some great examples of male/female harmonies.

Hey Thanks! Btw, do you have a variax guitar by Line 6? And if so, how do you like it?

Thanks for the feedback. I can't say too much about the vocalist since i can't sing myself, but i know he's off at that point. Since then, i've been using a different singer. Thanks!.

Hey Thanks Casey. I've heard of Eleven, but i've never checked them out. Believe it or not, those were drum loops, not a drum machine. Maybe i've got too much compression on the mix.
