Famous, "stolen" songs???

Led Zep "borrowed" 'bring it on home' from sonny boy williamson
Zeppelin "borrowed" a whole load of songs or segments of songs from black men and women. If you notice after the third Zep album, when they nicked they'd give part credits. On "Physical graffitti", 'Boogie with Stu' gives part credit to one "Mrs Valens". She was Richie Valens' mum {he died in Buddy Holly's plane crash} and the song drew heavilly on Valens' "Ooh, my head". On the untitled album {Led Zeppelin iv}, "When the levee breaks" is part credited to Memphis Minnie as she provided the basis of the song. My theory is that because they found themselves constantly being criticized for theft and having to settle lawsuits, guilt caused them to credit and stop stealing.......for a while. Both of those songs were recorded in and around 70/71. By '74 they were back to their old ways, not crediting Blind Willie Johnson for his part in stuff like "In my time of dying" and "Nobody's fault but mine".
