Just Put a new link for this mix http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?id=31679 Its a bummer that nobody has given me any feedback yet. The fact that nobody has written back probably means that either this mix is incredible or hopeless:D
I can't listen right now, I'm at work. I'll check it out later.

Don't worry about no responses. Sometimes it takes a day or 2. This place is dying anyway. I put up an awesome cover of a Stones tune a few weeks ago and got like 6 repsonses out of 100's of views. The views are mostly spam-bots. I used to always get pages of responses, but I think this place is being taken over by a new generation "look at me"s. I see so many people with 11 posts putting up their stuff and not giving one ounce of feedback.

Just the way it is, I guess. :(

Yup. The clinic is definitely at it's lowest point since I've been here.

I gave a listen last night, but I was tired and didn't have any suggestions to comment.

I thought the song was good overall. I was on headphones, so no suggestion for tonal balance. I think the drums could be bigger. A little pitchy in the vox. Probably a couple of other items have room for improvements.

Yeah, this place is definitely more quiet, especially on weekends.

Yeah its quite a bummer. I've been on this form since I was a lil newbie and I have gotten a lot of helpful feedback and hopefully I have helped others with my posts. Hopefully people will start actively helping each other more frequently.

I listen to every new song that is posted here, but I only comment on a handful of them. Often everything has already been said or I just don't feel qualified to make a constructive comment. What is the protocol? Should I comment even if it is just "I like it?" Although, I must admit that I am more likely to comment on a post if the OP has more that 30 or 40 posts than I am for on with only 10 or 11 posts.

BTW, I like the song.

Illsidgus- I know how you feel. Even if there is not much to say positive feedback is always nice too! And thank you!

Mix sounds good. But as a personal opinion I don't like the effect on the vocals. It almost sounds like some kind of weird doubling effect.

Yeah that's double tracking for ya. I think it should be more subtle but the singer likes it as an effect.

Cool song. Mix sounds pretty good. I find the kik either to loud or too box-y. Maybe bringing it down just a tad might help. It seems a little over-powering for this kind of tune.

The double tracking does get a little tiresome after a while. Nothing wrong with double tracking, but you might want to try turning down the doubled track a bit, or just bringing it in on certain parts, like just for the chorus and/or bridge. Nice psychedelic, sort of 60's vibe to this.

Serious consideration and reply takes me at least 20 minutes. That means I can do about 5 in 2hours. Of course there are posts easily dismissed, and others easily ignored... but I come by every 2 weeks or so and knock off the first 10 posts in the list, without trying to sell a single thing... (and generally I discourage muso "gear lust")

I feel this song needs to be either more spitting and agro or more melodic and folk... I find this a bit middle of the road. In it's current form it has a kind of non-descript "college rock" sound. Mind you, this will be my last effort tonight, and I tend to be harsh and unreasonable at this point. Sorry about that. (actually I listened at least 3 times and it's quite good in a deadpan way)

Sounds pretty good.

Like some others have said already, I'd dial back the doubling effect on the vocals a bit. The effect should be enough to make the vocals seem bigger, but subtle enough so as not to make the listener think "Oh hey! There's two voices there!" In other words, it should be (slightly) noticeable but not something that grabs your attention and distracts from the rest of the song.

There's something I don't quite like about the guitars. I'm a guitar player so maybe I'm just being picky, but they seem really plain and dry. In fact, the whole mix sounds like it needs to fill up some more space. Everything seems to be in its own little box, and the full stereo image isn't quite full. Other than that, though, good track!

...and take all of that with a grain of salt. I'm no pro :P

I like the song. I'm listening thru open monitors.

I'd like to hear more highs and crack than pop on the snare. The whole rhythm section sounds a bit woolly. I didn't really notice anything odd about the vocals, maybe a little too loud or hi eq, noticing a bit of sibilance too.

Really like that driving part at 04:00 and that nice mellow end is a nice touch.

From the first 4 seconds I thought it was going to be "Hybrid Moments", but it wasn't. ;p

Of course it never hurts to actually respond to the people that did comment on your mix. :D

Sorry for the delay. I was out late last night and I didn't get a chance to look at the posts.
Manslick: I totally agree with you on the drums, drummer has a low end set made of asian mahogany . For what it is its a decent sounding set but even with new heads its on the dark side. Maybe Ill brighten up the bass a bit. I see what you mean with the sibilance. I may have to slap a de esser on there.
Rami: Thanks for the positive feedback. I experimented with the kick eq and volume It sounds a lil better now.
Wolverine: I brought down the double a bit.
Tobe: I agree with you on the gear lust. If you can't do something with the basic tools you most likely wont be able to accomplish much more with high end products. I see what you mean with the college rock sound. However I don't think rock music has to be two dimensional. I'm actually a big fan of college rock and indie rock and what not. Plus Im a high school senior so if I'm in a band with a college rock sound that just means we're advanced. :D
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I will post up a new mix after I eat some dinner.

Thought so but regardless I don't wanna leave you guys hangin'. I got some more air into the drums with a 3db shelf at 4.5 K. Shoulda thought of that sooner:D. Anyway heres the latest mix:
