Fake SM58?

I bought an SM58 off ebay and am currently ABing it with my old SM58. The new one has a switch and my old one doesn't. Cosmetically they look exactly the same (bar the switch) but the new one is definatly louder. Could this be a sign of a fake or is such varience expected?

well i can't tell you for sure that it's a fake, but i've never seen an SM58 with a switch on it before. and i've seen lots of SM58s.

So having a switch has nothing to do with it being a fake.

if it still sounds as good as the old one then it can't be a fake surely...

Yeah i know they come with on/off switchs, all im asking about is the apparant change in sensitivity?
