Thanks Frits. Glad you enjoyed it.

The piano used is Addictive Keys (Studio Upright) but I tuned it funny and messed around with it until it sounded like a child's top keyboard. As best I could anyway.

Wow, cool!
What a neat idea for a song. Reminds me of Andrew Dice Clay + Kacey Musgraves (Merry Go Round).
Your singing is spot on, perfect articulation and timing.
Your piano sounds great. I love the organ parts.
I thought there were too many explicitly sexual parts, esp the part with the bear, ew. But that's just my personal thing.
Love the Little Miss Muffet part, and the stop effing singing part at the end, that's totally inspired.
I really like the music box effect at the beginning and end.
I agree that it needs to build more.
I can't believe you recorded this in an hour.

Thanks Jessica. It's about 2 hours now with the version up there at the minute. I spent another hour on the strings, I just never announced it.

I'm going to revisit this in a couple of days and see what I can do to improve it.

I plan to add more to this song, guitar definitely. Maybe some drums, building up as the song goes along. I'm undecided as yet...

Yeah, this is lovely. The backing vocals need to come up a bit. I see no need to add drums and guitar - the keys and strings do the job and keep it simple and accentuate the innocence of the nursery rhyme feel.

The vocal in relation to the piano - I'd probably reduce the verb/delay on the vocal in order to bring it forward more and match the piano. But I suppose you could put a chamber or something on the keys to push it back to match the vocal.

And yeah, I always thought that about Jack Horner too.

Cheers dobro.

I'm going to have a look at the mix of this with a fresh ear later in the week. I'll take note of your suggestions. (I won't be adding anything else to this now. I have it just about where I want it musically, just need to tweak the mix)

Thanks for the comments :thumbs up:
