:) I'm trying to fade 2 separate tracks that will fade into one another. It always saves and appears as 1 whole track.
Can I do this in such a way that it will be recognized as 2 tracks on a standard cd player.I know it's been done as I own cd's that have tracks fading into each other.
That way if you only want to listen to the last track it will forward to where the second starts fading in.
I've tried cross fade and all sorts of other ways.Maybe there is an option using the counter or something
Cheers

Its no fun in CEP... it can be done, but its not too flexible..

The program for ultimate CD layout is SoundForge...w/ the CD Architect Plug in.

it rocks.

bummer -all I got is CEP .logic and acid pro(sonic foundry):(:(:(

fine then. You can do it... you need a prog that will write you a cd without any annoying sapces in between tracks... if you have THAT.. then do this:

get your tracks together... the 2 songs, lets call them A and B.

go to the multitrack mode... and put A on track 1 and B on 2..

move them and envelope them so it sounds how you want it to..

mix them down to one stereo wav...

cut it in half right where you want the track marker to be...

save the 1st half as A, the second as B..

burn to disc.

xoxo

please note... this should be done on COPIES OF YOUR FILES.. cuz it will fucker your trackes pretty good.

xxo

thanks dude!!
I'll give it a whirl. Hey that annoying little space is that the 2 second gap they always mention when burning. Cause I think I can remove that in nero(burning rom).I also have a cd burning program with acid but have never used it .So I'll make copies and mess with 'em:D

THANKS CAMN

I edired the track in cool edit -split it -then removed the 2 second gap with NERO.worked like a charm!!
thanks again:) :) :) :) :) :) :D :D :D :D

If you want to have more control over your fading, then burn two cd's, one with the first track and one with the second.

Then take two cd-players and plug them into a channel mixer.
Output: to computer.

Then you can do it 'yourself':

Push record on computer.
Push play on first cd-player.
Wait for part to fade track into another.
Push play on the second cd-player.
Slowly open this channel and close the first.

Then, save your file as to waves and you know what to do than.

that sounds like a neat Idea. I've never tried it, mostly cuz of the additional sound degradation from the mixer and the a/d conversions... and I also find volume envelopes a lot more precise than surface controls. But it sure would work.

CDA rules, though. you can do trick crossfades, place track markers, do hidden tracks... you name it.
